Video Production
Edcom primarily serves the professional video industry, selling and servicing cameras and recording decks in formats like DVC Pro, but we are increasingly dealing in more mid-level 'prosumer' equipment. Recent gains in quality and the increased simplicity of digital storage have opened up the video industry to a broader range of people. At Edcom we use our extensive resources and experience in professional video to supply these new users with the equipment and support they need.
Edcom is a licensed dealer of Apple products. Our primary editing solution is Final Cut Pro. We can provide the hardware and software for a complete editing suite.
JVC features a range of cameras from consumer through prosumer to professional. JVC is noteworthy for having some more professional options in their prosumer cameras. Some JVC cameras also have the ability to record to SDHC cards (like some digital cameras use) making solid state storage extremely easy and cost effective.
Panasonic’s range extends up to the professional level with their DVC Pro products. Panasonic has recently introduced new video storage options such as the FireStore external hard drive and the P2 solid state card which simplify and streamline workflow.
Canon has become a prosumer standard in the past eight years since the introduction of the XL1. They continue to make great products with the XL H1 being the most recent High Definition iteration in the series.
